Rumour in the press is that Ford are in talks to flog off Jaguar and Land Rover to an Equity group.
I wonder what the long-term prospects for either company will be.

In the Daily Mail it says JCB are interested in Jaguar.
-
..and remind me - the BEST way to get to publicity is to start rumours is it not?
Ford must be chuckling :-)
-
The consensus is Ford are only interested in selling the two companies as a package.
Shame I’d like to Jaguar in British hands.
Or even Land rover for that matter.
-
..but neither are in British hands at the moment?
-
Hell, i would like to see Jcb buy both, they are a serious company, spending serious money on development, and the only company in this country to start a new diesel engine production plant for 20-30 years from scratch.
And that very engine, well 2 of them and very tweeked, broke the diesel land speed record this week i believe.
And they are 100% british, but do also build equipment in india, and other countrys.
All they need do, get a couple of Fastrack axles, engine and transmission, and stick a Land Rover body on top, no worries with breaking half shafts then.

JCB are fantastic, LR would go far under them :)
