In addition to the death of Steve Irwin, we lost one of out own cultural icons at the weekend.
Charlie Williams, the Barnsley born black comedian, died on Sunday.
He was a star of TV & was the role-model for other comedians like Lennie Henry.
Charlies humour was self-depracating at times, but it was all clean fun.
He will be another man to be missed

Yes, I met him years ago at Batley Variety Club.
My parents had gone to collect something that another performer had left for my mother, when he came into the foyer before a show & started chatting.
I still remember what a nice chap he was.
