I cannot beleive this ... arrested for not giving back a £1.99 football!!!!!

Stunning waste of tax payers money.

That implies they were caught - what other option(s) are there, especially as they refused to give the ball back? Should the policeman pay, should the shop owner give the ball away? Maybe the policeman should have punctured it and then said "OK, keep it then" :wink:  :lol:

If you listened to the program you'd know that the guy only wanted an apology for them constantly kicking it into the garden, and also hitting his wife in the face.

It is overkill IMHO. There was no need for him to be handcuffed and driven off in a Police car.

I don't think the (was he the?) Chief Superintendant was over the moon about it either.
Jeremy Vine did say the boys father was offered the opportunity to also put his views across, but refused.
I'll guess that he knew his boys were in the wrong, not to mention his own behaviour in the matter :x

Vine make me  :twisted:  though so I end up having to resort to bleeding classic FM....especially if I'm on the way to work or I end up nicking some poor sod for nicki..... ah

Anyway, didn't hear the ins and outs but as I understood the law (a while ago0 if the ball falls on your property you arn't allowwed to keep it but the owner is not allowed to retreive it.  If you leave it where it fell then stalemate, as you have not been deemed to "take it".
