Purchase of a hi lift is imminent , but which size do i go for?

4ft fits nicely across the width of a defender, if that helps

Yeah, 4 foot. Mines mounted in the back of my 90, Keeps it dry but to hand. I've used it for changing wheels, jacking out of ruts and as a winch and it's done the job everytime without the need for an extra foot of travel.
