when i bought my disco it leaned slightly to the right. i have now fitted a 2 inch lift and it leans even more. yesterday i took all the springs off and checked everything was on the right way round. and it is. :?
i have been round with my crow bar to see if i can find any play in any bushes to no avail. but i'm not that sure i was levering in all the right places.
what do think i should try next. :?:
 i may go to the show at billing tomorrow to buy a set of new bushes all round.

What lift kit did you get as I know Scorpion's kit has handed front springs.
The bushes are a good bet, even though you can't find any play. They may have been crushed into one position over the years and lifting the suspension has made this look worse.
I would check before heading to Billing if I were you as I think the show you're on about is in Peterborough and called Land Rover Fest (http://www.landroverfest.com/).

Are scorpion springs marked as to left and right? I have a slight lean on them!
-
Check with Scorpion as to which spring go's where.
Mine is nice and level
No lean front to back or side to side.

Downside of the cheapy springs.
I believe Britpart and Bearmach? springs are not sided.
However the 300TDi has more weight over the O/S/F hence the lean.
-
thanks for that guys.
i have had a close look at all of the bushes and the front off side radius bush looks like the culprit.
i have got the britpart springs, so if the bush doesn't cure it, i will upgrade the springs.
when i typed the post i thought peterborough and typed billing

My springs are OME and they arent sided
my old ones were which were std HD landrover ones.
used to be higher on one side to compensate for the fat driver and a tank of derv!!!
-
Discos have sided springs, RRC don't unless they are LHD.
I did hear something about a whole load of Discos having twisted chassis requiring handed front springs. The radius arm bushes do indeed 'creep' over time giving a permenant lean. Check you bill to see if the front springs are listed as differeent parts, ask the supplier.
You may have to correct this with a solitary spacer under the spring seat.
-
does the motor only lean when you are in it?
-
my front pro comps are handed,,they have it engraved on the springs n/s and o/s
-
the disco leans without the help of the over weight driver
i'd thought about the chassis not being straight and went round everywhere and i mean everywhere with my tape measure.
i suppose the spacer will definately straighten it up. but that will be a last resort
-
Thing is on the Disco 1 the engine sits passenger side, so you'd expect it to lean that way.

He was talking about extra wide bucket seats for his fat behind!!

Got scorpian springs on mine and yes they are handed the longer spring is for the drivers side. They must think all l/r drivers a fat lazy slobs oh sorry thats us hgv drivers
-
how did you know i'm a hgv driver

hi mate, harry has got the same problem with his rangie ...he is convinced his chassis is warped .did not level out when he put his yellow lift kit on either.....i have a set of almost new pro comp 2" springs sitting in the garage (these are marked n/s and o/s) you are welcome to try them on yours to see if they level it up.. :D
-
how did you know i'm a hgv driver
Me too
-
thanks robbie. pm sent :D

The spring that's longer might not neccesarily be the stronger one. To acheive the same preload on a softer spring it has to be compressed more.
-
my disco leans to off side . put+ 2" bearmach lift (not handed)with pro-comp shocks ( still leaning an sloppy). swoped rear springs again from ba 2103 to ba2102 stronger spring sits better now but still leans to off side by 20 mm .
looks like ill try polybush kit

glad i'm not alone adrian, we should start our own club

just ordered polybush kit will soon see wot happens then. Any one know how big a job it is ? :?
The LDOMC sounds good
-
if you have polybushes in it now - then not a big job, if its the old standard metal rubber ones then it may take some time!
