Title: Injectors on 300Tdi EDC
Post by: ep90 on September 13, 2006, 15:43:49
Whats so special about the EDC injectors?  They seem to cost twice as much as the standard injectors.

I inadvertantly replaced one of my injectors with a standard one (about 2 years ago) and the engine seems to be running fine!

Heres the different types from paddocks.  I belive I should have fitted the £85 ones.

I bought a genuine Bosch one off eBay,  they claimed to be suitable for all 300tdi engines.  Got any thoughts on this?  How come it works and should I replace it with the proper one!

Cheers

Thats what I thought, but there are three different injector types for the 300 tdi.

 Injector - 300TDI - manufactured by Bosch - DISCOVERY 1
ERR3339
 Ã‚£34.00 ex VAT

 Injector - 300TDI with EDC (requires 1) - DISCOVERY 1
ERR3337
 Ã‚£129.00 ex VAT

 Injector - 300TDI with EDC (requires 3) - DISCOVERY 1
ERR3348

Its the £129 one that has the sensor on, but the other three (ERR3348) are not the same as the standard (ERR3339) parts.
