Title: I heard an interesting sound in the sky and looked up....

Its a Catalina flying boat.

I was out this morning and the battle of britain memorial flight, Dakota DC3 flew over nottingham, no flaming camera with me though :cry:

I heard that there was the 'BBMF' Lancaster spotted as well.

I'll admit I had to think twice about that question., I first thought "Daft Beggar!" :wink:
Then realised it's a very valid question, I presume it's mainly to keep the collection under one roof, flight-crews & engineering team.

Post by: Fingers Mclean on September 17, 2006, 19:07:33: All the above were at the shoreham airshow this weekend...I took the family today...went via the southdowns lane and it takes you to mill hill??(i think its called) where it looks over the airstrip..Great day..off roading and watching great planes in the sky...very nice pick nick to... :lol: :lol: :lol:

That's the Panton brothers Lancaster at East Kirkby.
I've been there as well, but was fortunate enough to go when they had a 2-seater Spitfire visiting (& flying :D :D :D )

(It's a film star as well, anybody seen memphis belle, it was ued in that, really good film :D )
