Title: springs/dampers

does anyone know how to tell what springs i have on my disco :(contented): i did not fit them and i dont know what type are on there . i am in need of replacing them as well as the dampers, how can i tell if they are long reach or extended dampers? any idears would be verry helpfull as i am looking to get this done for the l2b weekend  the springs on the back look as if they are black with a red and yellow paint stripe down the spring the front look as if they are black with a blue stripe down them many thanks

Sounds like standard ones to me. But dose it matter if you are going to replace all of them?

Depends on what you want from the new ones and what you do with the disco? You could just get the same again, thats the cheepest way. Or go for a very good kit for lot more.

i have a winch fitted to the front and think that i would like to give it a 2 inch lift with the britpart yellow springs and pro comp shocks is ths a good idear or what about the (police springs)

police springs are alot cheaper but alot softer, they give you loads of flex
but i got yellow pro comp's on my 90 and cant nock then
got them on my 200tdi disco aswel better road handling than those std springs  :shock:

POlice psec can be a bit confusing, firstly it's based on RRC isn't it? so red-white on the back ie heavy duty

The front can either be standard (green is it?) or standard TDi (blue) ie heavy duty again, I don't know what spec if any exists for TDI heavy duty.

Now I fitted red/whites and blues to RRR and it shot up at least an inch and a half.
