It's not the doors opening that you need to worry about ... what if the thing came loose and toppled into the Thames

:) I went on the London Eye a few years ago, husband got it for me as a Birthday pressie!  I spent most of my time sitting on the floor covering my eyes, I was terrified - the crazy thing is, I am ex-cabin crew and have spent most of my working life at 30,000+ feet!

:o What didn't help was the fully armed SWAT team running out of the Eye check in and as we got on our "pod" thing the other passengers were all Jews, spot the suicide bomber!

I was fine on the eye despite being a little scared of heights.

Any knife with a locking blade is illegal, as far as I know.

I've been on the eye, the week before we went on it, I was sat watching Blue Peter while eating my tea and one clip they had onthere was showing Londons Fire and Rescue's rope access team getting people out of the top pod in the event of complete mechanical failure!  that was food for thought, Got a hell of a wallop off my mate for explaining how they did just as we got to the top of our flight!!!
