Title: difflock oil service kit
Post by: Matt_H on September 26, 2006, 18:05:25
ok so I got to service the landy this weekend.  difflock do an oils and filters kit for £34 + £5 postage.... Is it any good and is it a good price?

I can't remember how much my local motor factor charges but its not too far off I'd have thought.

What's in the kit?

Can't be all that much and I'm not sold on the costly DIFFLOCK oils.

I could put a service kit togther for less

Difflock stuff isn't bad, have bought quite a bit of stuff from Peter in the past... my one bill was around the £1500 mark

I have been quite impressed with their gearbox oils though....

I'd second that - I did the oil on the P38A the other morning in about 15 minutes - no tools needed.

All I can say is you're a bit optimistic if you're thinking of doing it this weekend.
Not sure of anyone else's experiences but I think 8 days of having my money and no goods or communications is a bit much for an internet mail order service.

the kit is 10 litres oil, air and oil filter, sump plug washer and some gloves!

it was the oil I'm mainly interested in, I have a trade account at the local factors but it still works out about £12 a pot of semi synth ISTR.  Oil doesnt really seem buying maul order due to postage but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts.
