hello i dont know if this is the right section but im wondering if any experienced mechanics can help me with a non landy Q's

im looking at astra vans for my work and a 1999 t reg astra van has come up for sale near me but has a couple of faults

1) whilst driving an orange light comes on in the shape of an engine with a fan on the end but goes off each time it is restarted until driven again

2) its gt a digital display for the milometer but this isnt working

3) the centre digital display isnt working either

are any of these probs easy fixes or should i walk away

any replies please.    joe

the orange light is the engine management light ,


depend on how much its going for ?id say would determine wether to walk or not

you have no real reference to how many miles its done or service history


i would walk .. some good ex fleet vans come up at auction  with a good history  :wink:  

just the other week my mate bought a vauxhall combi van 51 plate £2200 plus the dreaded and only had 86thou on the clock

yeah sorry he will let it go for £1300 its done 120k with service history 10 months mot and 10 months tax
