Does anyone know if bench seats were fitted into the back of these? - a mates looking at a 1999 T reg ,, but it's got bench seats in the back and we were trying to work out if it's a genuine SW or not
Also does the VIN clarify whether it was built a SW or not?
Any thoughts?

I'm not so sure. I think that genuine csw's came with four individual seats in the back only. Yes the vin should tell you what body style the vehicle left the factory with.

If you want a second opinion, give me a shout...
Are we talking a CSW or just a station wagon?? (have you got the reg or the VIN, is so drop me a pm)
CSW will have four seperate seats, with seat belt bars etc etc...
Station wagon would possibly have vinyl bench seats.
There are other things too....

We (well our Estates Department) had an 'S' plated Station wagon (not a County) & that had vinyl seats & 2 seater benches in the rear
Black (npot body coloured) 'eyebrows' are usually another pointer to a plain SW
Don't think the VIN code differentiates between SW & CSW though?

It can do if you ask the right people....
The vehicle mentioned comes up has having 3 vinyl seats (and 3 seat belts), plain hard top side, in a different colour blue, non-colour coded wheel spats etc etc.

There is a VIN calculator on here, a link on left hand side, should tell you what you need if you enter the VIN
