I've never understood the term "teetotal" as it implies that you only drink tea!
But in answer to your question, I do not drink alcohol. :D

Ey up lads

Um...after 42 hours solid drinking last week on a stag do ... can I be teetotal now please?
P.S. I am also very tired ;-)
-
I haven't drunk alcohol for about 2 years.............
.............mainly cos i had a medical for a job where one of the blood tests gave a well screwed result on a CDT test, showing I drank over 40 units a week (used to drink about 10units). The doctor didnt believe me and told me to admit my problem!!!!!
Since then haven't drunk at all, although the same doctor would prob still not believe me!
-
I'm tee-total, have been since i was 18  (wasnt so t-total before that!)
-
Apart from the odd Smirnoff Ice (Love that stuff) I'm basically tee-total, I had one last night and that was it.

I am tee total now.
I don't think the tee in tee total refers to tea but rather totally not drinking alcohol.
Wasn't the tee total 'movement' started up North where they had some cafe where they served only soft drinks and the term tee total came from there? I beleive the cafe is still open but I have not yet found anything on the web.
Personally I'm fairly pleased not to drink as I used to get awful hang overs and it's nice to end each day totally compus mentis - well as good as I can manage.
Do others find you can get odd reactions at parties etc. when you say you don't drink? I don't care if you want to get rat arsed and I don't feel superior because I don't drink. I just woke up one day and no longer enjoyed beer nor (sob) G&T!

I find i get a mixed reaction, people who call me boring are normally drunk, and supprise supprise,in the morning when they find out how much they spent(just to [throw it] it down the loo)most say :i wish i was like you:
Serriously though,if you like a drink, fair enough,i just dont like the taste of any alcoholic drink.
-
STELLA ARTOIS ..Think that about covers it.Pete :D

Totaly agree mind you don't you find it amusing to wind them up the next day telling them what they did or did'nt do

So what soft drink is worth having in a pub? I usually end up on lemonade but how much of that can you drink without getting bloated?
Mike

.
Cokes always a safe bet, if not the Blackcurrent Cordial (If it's Britvic) isn't half bad.
-
Just a tad over six years now, But my decision was made for me(clinical), But yea is kinda funny watching others though
-
:D I always end up with coke but why do they have to put ice lemon and a blo*dy straw in it????
-
You wanna try the longlands... they only do Pepsi!
One of the pubs in Lancaster does draught Zero, bloody gorgeous!
-
I can have too much coke very quickly and it's only the full on coke that's worth drinking at all. I used to like Pepsi Max but Aspartemine (?) leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth the next day and has all sorts of alleged health issues.
Am I right that the profit margin on any tap soft drink is massive - far better than beer etc?
On balance I reckon you boozers get the better deal! There's not a lot wrong with good old Gin & Tonic - except the alcohol I guess.
Mike
-
what i dont understand is why drink say vodka, when all you can taste is the mixer, its the same with WKD all you can taste is Iron Bru,so why not save yourself a lot of money(and a headache) and just buy a bottle of Iron Bru
-

yeh but irn bru doesnt get you pashed
-
I won't even pretend I'm Teetotal cause nobody would believe me anyway.
A nice scotch after work pacifies the world again
-

Yep, it costs the pubs about 8p on average for a pint of Post mix Coke, I just hate the syrup'y aftertaste.
-
Urrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh
After last night I wish I was tee total!
Beer, curry and Poker don't go well together!
-
I am very choosey about what I drink as I dont like fizzy beer.
I only drink hand pulled beer, good bottled bitter or the very occasional can of 'draught flow' bitter. Other than that I prefer a cup of coffee.
I also dont drink at home except maybe a glass or 2 of a good quality spirit or port at family bashes.
-
BTM is TT afaio
And you are absolutely correct, I don't even eat Sherry trifle.
-
im the opposite - prefer to drink at home, then again at an average of £2.50 for a pint in a pub, and i can buy 8 cans of guinness for £6 then it makes perfect sense, dont usualy drink in the week due to driving for a living.
Also most people i know drink carling - if i have 1 can of that i spend more time 'getting rid of it' ;) than i do drinking it - funnily enough tho, if i drink the stronger lagers 6 - 9% i dont pee as much, and it dosnt seem to affect me as much either.
Just dont ask SWMBO about when i drank a bottle and half of whiskey..
Also when i was younger I was a borderline alcoholic, used to do the drinking games to excess.. especialy with Vodka - start off with a single then work up to a 1/2 pint glass - and i NEVER lost!
For one of my birthdays i got brouht 3 bottles of vodka -and woke up having drunk them all, but could only find 2 empty bottles... soon decided that i was on a 1 way trip to an early grave and stopped drinking Vodka, stil cant touch the stuff now

I'm partial to a nice bottled beer from time to time. I have found a fantastic one from a Belgian monetrary. Chimay. Try one!

I discovered Chimay on the 16th of June 1990  I have tried trapist beer on many occasions and the variety of flavours are immense  Including one that tastes like Vimto    I like going to belgium just for the beer  (and the waffles)
The best continental beer I have ever tasted was a place called the Wood House just outside of Erfurt in the old east germany. They brewed their Pilsner on the premises and they only sold 'light' and 'dark'. NOTHING else was sold not even lemonade. It was in the middle of a forest and it was a mile or so walk just to get to it
-
i drink guinness :D
-

OK impressed with the memory, take it you quite liked it then!

Easy enough date to remember ..... me and some m8s went to the celebrations for the 175th anniversary of the battle Waterloo and we arrived 2 days before hand. I think we hit the bars of Brussels about 6.45

SWMBO used to like 'Old Peculier', 'Riggwelter' & 'Black Sheep' though
-
'Old Peculiar'
Once is allowed but spelling it wrong twice makes me wonder if you are a Tyke at all...... . You sure you aren't an offcumden :?: :P

Duely revised (http://www.theakstons.co.uk/LA/OldPeculier.htm)
It had been a long day at work, what with rather a vicious 'domestic'
"Off-cumdum"
Cheeky swine
I've lived within 4 miles of Wakefield Cathedral all my life

Something like 10,000% profit margin on the actual drink. Costs about tuppence for the actual drink - a bit more with the ice and cleaning the glass. OK, they've got to pay off a £20k postmix machine, but when you're pocketing £2.50 a glass of coke, that doesn't take long.
-
And there was I thinking it was excelent value for money!
LOL.
-
On the subject of soft drinks in pubs, going to MC meets or Suzuki meets at the pub, I tend to buy orange juice and lemonade. I don't really like Coke/Pepsi, etc. But only when you order a pint of orange juice and lemonade do you realise how cheap beer is ...... £2.50   Mine lasts me all night!!!

I've started having J2O when I go out or a can of Vimto at least they can't water them down like the syrup stuff. I haven't drunk alcohol for about 10 years
-
I only drink at parties ,social occasions and when the bar is open!! :D
Seriously used to drink a lot, especially when in the RAF in Germany! These days a social drink, usually at home definite liking for wine although a cold pint on a hot summer day or with bbq is nice! 8)
Can't handle yuk morning-after anymore! :x
