Sounds like the clutch release bearing has collapsed.
Did the same on my 90. Pulled out of the drive, went to go into 1st and the peddle was rock solid at the top.
Have you noticed a rumbling from the clutch area over the last month or so?

As its a gear box/engine out you are best to change the lot.

Usually you get the bearing but no fork. Fork is around £15 to £20

What is a good make of clutch and where's the best place to buy from?

MM 4x4 (http://www.mm-4x4.com/Shop/index.htm) are doing a clutch kit, including fork, for £75 + VAT.
Or there's Paddocks (http://www.paddockspares.com) who have Borg & Beck clutch kits with seperate fork.
