Everyone seems to be talking about Scrapheap Challenge, has anyone been watching "Off The Road" on one of the Discovery channels?
It's completely about off roading big time, more mud than you can shake a 90 at.
It was on every day last week but not sure if it's still on this week or exactly what channel it was as my Missus taped it for me, I'll ask her when I see her later.
-
Watched it some time ago and thought it was very good,
That's unless it's not a repeat and it's a new series that's started..?
-
Not sure if it was a new series but I can't find it on any channel this week.

4:30pm Travel and adventure number 553.

Just spotted your message and turned over 10 mins into the program.
Thanks

Thought it was 551 Discovery this afternoon?
It was Production Car Trials.
If a load of 4x4's used the public (unsurfaced) roads in that manner they'd be hounded out of the County & have had the Police & Councils after them.
Still it's a good series.
Mason was at his best in that classic clip where he's commentating on the RAC & gets snowballed
Or where he looks very young alongside the sadly missed Roger Clark at the 1972 RAC Rally

No, it was 553 and it's called "Off The Road" and there was so much mud flying about I couldn't see the tele.
Todays one was all about off raod production car trials with Escorts, Austins, VW Beetles etc. I didn't see any tarmac worth mentioning at all.
With a V8 Rangie hammering through the jungle thrown in for good measure.

This is a repeat i believe, and the Rangey is Mr Simon Bucks, aka Devon 4x4.
Each program shows a bit of the Malasyian extreme challenge, with Mr Buck.
The best one is where he is parked at the top of a almost vertical drop of some 70 80 feet, the other drivers winched down it taking several minutes,
he just drives of the top following the ruts created by the other vehicles, taking about 10 seconds.
A good series.

Saw the full series first time round.
Wait for the 'Heavies' with the Explorers & Stalwarts :D :D
Now that was good!

I think that's the chap. The series may be a repeat (What isn't a repeat on Sky?) but it's the first time I've seen it. I don't often watch Home & Leisure, my Wife does and the first I knew of it was when she taped all last weeks episodes for me... Don't ya just love a good woman :)
She's set Sky+ up to tape all this weeks for me as well.

In fact Mr Buck was the expert on this week's scrapheap challenge   .
And so we are back to the begining of the thread
