I thought Id'e try out the 4x4 site at Long Buckby. Myself and my eldest son set off nice and early and had got as far as Towcester when a god awful racket started under the bonnet. I stopped straight away... and found oil pouring out all over the shop. A quick inspection soon revealled that my vacuum pump was hanging on by one bolt.. the other 5 bolts having dissapeared into the ether somewhere....
09.30 on a Sunday morning... no tools... no spare bolts... hmmmmm
So I rang Dazzawhipple....
Who took 10 minutes to get to me... ( lousy service ! )
Brought his tools, took me to get some new bolts, oil, gasket sealant...
and with my son helping him put it back together again... by the side of the road, with me taking photo's (well, I had to do something.. )
Darren... you are a bloody star !....
Then, not without some concern, I carried on to Long Buckby...
And had a great time.... met a couple of mud club guys up there...
Its a small site, but fun.. ( The first pic was taken there... once we finally arrived..) ...and that's what its all about....
So it wasn't such a bad day after all...
The spirit some people show, and the willingness to help out, even on a Sunday morning when they could easily have said they were 'busy'... things like that make the world seem a better place ... and make me appreciate people like Darren ( Dazzawhipple ) for the thoroughly decent guy he is.. cheers Darren...
