There is, floating about somepace here, a Plymouth Fury done up identical to Christine, noticed some people give it a wide berth, amazing the power of the storyteller :)
Found it I think:

That's very, very close. Loose the towbar. IIRC the car in the film isn't accurate to the book, but an imposing looking automobile it certainly is.
-
I dont remeber of fthe top of my head what the book said it was. 58 Plymouth Fury I think.
Ooh, found this: http://www.allpar.com/history/christine.html

The car beleongs to one of Solent Renegades now I THINK. Just did a search for it. I have pics of it out and about someplace but just realised today that I have lost a shedload of images.

Here's my '74 Chevy Camaro 350 V8. Very fast, and very loud :D :D
You can hear it here: http://www.park.nildram.co.uk/camaro/start_and_idle.wmv
...and more photos/details here: http://www.park.nildram.co.uk/camaro/camaro.htm
The one that would have to wait for the lottery win would be an early '70s Plymouth 'Cuda...drooool :)

Look better in white with the blue strips down them but silver is good.
Just think they look so nice from the front with the air intakes in the front of the bonnet and they sound so nice as well

Here, question for BTM
Where ARE the headlights on the 68 chargers (General Lee Style).
Mate in Calgary had a Camero almost identical to that and hi treated it so bad, wasnt far off being a wreck, but they dont seem to be anythigng special over there.
-
The '68 Charger had a vacuum operated cover. I think the earlier ones had an electric system.
-
I'm no fan of muscle cars but having been in Rob's car - well all I can say if you like the V8 burble you'd LOVE the sound the Camaro makes and the simple relentless accelaration is awesome.
The whole experience is amazing.

Missed this somehow. I KNEW there was another black one about, kinda answers that question :)

a firebird with a 455HO (high output) is even better
was one going round here with a blower on and twin 1050 double pumpers on top (YUMMIE)

If anyone's interested, the Camaro (see earlier in the thread) is now up for sale on Ebay. Start price is £3500, no reserve.
I did have a buyer, but he's decided not to sell his Mustang after all (would have been nice if he'd told me a bit sooner though :? )
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&item=330043783879&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
Go on...you know you want to place a bid

do like american muscel, osme nice photo's of your..
Was into them back home as were my pals, i have a 57 potiac, my friends have various chevy's couple of mustangs, one very nice fast back with a split diff, some other pals have a plymouth road runner, a super bee, a cobra, a extremely hot rodded for pop (ran high 11 secs on the drag strip on road tyres)...
Here is my pontiac, bad picture as it is a picture of a picture, in the picture it still has a 347cu pontiac engine in it, it now has a 400 chevy with some major work done on it...

Nice one Toppa
A bit of a change to the ubiquitous 'tri-five' Chevvys (even though I like 55's - like the 'American Grafitti'/'Two-Lane Blacktop' motor)
