On the M40 on way back from Heathrow - nice LHD (but english registered) 100" defender.. really loked the part - and had NAS rear light setup..silver grey and full soft top!

Thinking it might be the Nick Dimbleby's one per chance??? - The ex-off road international (I think) car that was fully rebuilt to a pseudo NAS 90 Spec

That's exactly what I was thinking of.
However............. you'e showing geekness by naming the owner.
It was initially built in the mid-80's by a magazine called '4x4 Driver' (or was it just '4x4') & built for the then editor Colin Dawson - who then went onto 'International Off-Road & 4x4' (where Frank Elson started writing about LR's)

I forgot that it's actually painted White Gold, which was also a vary rare (alternative) colour for the Discovery 50th Anniversary models

Couple of little known facts about TEW, was built origianally by Pete Rowe, he of off road racing a 8.2litre Chevy engined LR, and TEW itself did a comp safari or two in her Dulux pink days in the hands of Russell Fisher.
