Surprised to see its not THAT much quicker than the new RS4 and RS6. Guess they've crippled it a bit so the Veyron and Lambo dont suffer. Still £61K on the road.... hmm, I have plan, where's Thrasher....
-
i know. i ADORE this car... LOVE IT
-
Really hoping they see sense and drop the W12 they designed for it in.
-
oh im sure they will.
-
Still take the RS4 personally... Speed and control is great, but it's so much more awesome when you can take 4 friends in comfort as well.
-
two completely different cars. cant compare the two.

Depends what you want. Its like the Esprit I looked at. Choise comes down to speed, power, agility and what you think is practical. The Esprit wasnt a practical main car so the Audi won. IF I had the money to blow I think the same would be the case here if it was a main car. As a second toy though ......
RS4 is a day to day car. R8 is a race hybrid :) As TD90 said
-
yup indeed :) if only if only.
-
R8 is being launched with the V8 from the RS4, approx a year latter there will be a version with the V10 from the Lambo, but will likely be de-tuned to save Lambo's blushes.

Read it someplave that it will proboby get the V10 plus a 'new' engine. From what I've seen thats the RS4's engine in there so it makes sense that its not that much quicker than the RS4, any net gains being from the weight decrease.
Originally the R8 started life as the Le-Mans Quattro which had the 6.0l W12 in it thats in the S8. Aparently it turns out the V10 is only a tiny tiny bit less powerful so they saved the W engine for the Veyron for exotica perposes and put the V10 in the lambo and the new A8s.
Knowing Audi it wont take long. The 220HP engine thats in the TT was never announced originally :)

'O' how i'm sick of Audis
My eldist is two weeks into his apprentiship with the local Audi 'Centre'
Audi this & Audi that. Then of course there's also RSs & Q7s
Bless him he's like a dog with two tails.
I've even had a days corperate brainwashing at the VAG National Training Centre. Milton Keynes
The canteen is spot on
When he scoffs at the Discovery that's just to much :!: :!:
-
I assume the R8 is crap offroad and can't tow a caravan?
-
Here's a few piccies from The VAG National Training Centre.
Taken at the Audi Apprentice Induction Day

:D I soooo want one of those quattro sports!!!
-
Oooooo S1 Quattro.... I need one!
That, an RS4 and an RS6 Avant Plus would be the ultimate garage. And shell's best friend ;)

he he would be a good to the gallon aswell,no that they would go far

Quite a few S1's on Autotrader atm. Think there were at least 5 obvious S1s and loads of toned down S1's that just need the track kit. Looking at a wrecked one tomorrow for parts. Guy flipped it on a gravel track at quite a lick, didnt do it any good :(
Ahh see I've not been brainwashed. I know that a Disco beats a Q7 hands down Next 4x4 will be a Mitsi, Santana or Green Oval (Series 3 looking really likely)
No thrasher it cant, but if you can spend that on a playtoy you probobly have an RRSC already to go with the Merc/BMW for the missus :)

Ahhh short wheelbase Quattro, ahh a proper rally car, for real men to race, not like todays pansy cars.

or the S2, 90QT or CQ.
Ok muds a lot of fun
Mud, gravel and dirt tracks at 70mph plus is a whole new ball game, its a surprising amount of work to keep a car on a track. And after tracking mine the first time its impressive what it takes out of the car too, mullered my breaks.
lil plug but I wanna get some rally events arranged through The RoadCrew (http://www.theroadcrew.cc/forum/) at some point.
