I wouldn't have though that the benefits justifies the costs and hassle. You already have a well sorted tdi. You could always get dew to put a 200bhp TD in there for you in you want the extra power
-
ouch !! i wish u never said that
ww3 now
but i just want the power
my 90 is a heavy thing 2.3t
n i cant b botherd to put her on a diet
i mean 230bhp td5, they go like a bat outof hell
everthing is allready there, all i would need is another tubby HYBRID

It might not be too hard to fit but it's harder than leaving the tdi that's already there. But then i would take the lazy option (i still haven't changed my clutch)
-
dooooooooooooooo itttttttttttttt

do you have any idea of what it would take to fit a TD5 into your truck?
you would be better of buying a TD5 90 & swappin ur stuff over
-
nah,it aint that hard mike, i seen a few people now who done it, use existing box mounts n just sit engine slightly forward
still undecided, but still swaying td5 :?
unless something drastic changes me mind

Yep, building one at the moment.... was a 200tdi.... soon to be Td5
ECU mapping, I know someone who might have kit very soon  (blatent self plug  )... 230bhp.... interesting to see how long they last with that (and those figures are probably rolling road figures  - read the rolling road post)
Isn't that hard if you use the Defender set up (etc etc) rather than using Disco bits (mainly the wiring loom)
I'm a fan of the TD5 - and by modern car standards the electronics are pretty basic.... people just get scared because it's got an ECU

its a full defender kit from a m8s scrap 90
its already got allisport intercooler, ecu has been re-mapped not chipped, egr removed few other things
so its already around the 180 ish mark, just add a hybrid turbo and hey presto
but when running properly take it in 2 b tuned properly
and since looking at them, at 1st i hated them but now i quite like them, underneath that plastic and maze of wires , its still a engine !

DO IT, iff you dont i'd be interested in the engine and stuff for my project just as soon as i've sold my CSW :)
-
have you had any problems smo ??
i think ive just about made my mind up :?
you got any thing say about them porny ??

Not had any problems with either of my TD5's, the first one did 140K and was chipped and intercoolered wihtout problems (then i sold it and its still going).
My current one is great, had water up to the windscreen and plenty around the ecu and battery without a stutter, she just keeps on going. Easy to tune and more powerful in standard form anyways.
Definatly go for it, youll not regret it :)
