I've got to go up to brum at the weekend to look at an old 109 diesel for a mate, I was wondering what the typical 109 grot spots are and what to expect for 950 notes?

Rust in Chassis & Bulkhead. Give it a good poke, they rust from the inside out. Gearbox may jump out of gear on over-run but can be rebuilt. Electrics are basic but of low quality. Everything else is just Meccano. Parts are easy to get & cheap as chips.

a 109 2.25 diesel will be as slow as anything!
So may be a goodun, as they are not very desirable.
Blue smoke....

take a look at my site and follow the links to JLO. There are lots of images of a 109 Restoration which featured in LRO a couple of years back.
They probably say more than words alone could.

he's now had it about three weeks to a month. so far the brakes have needed adjusting, its leaked diesel all over the place and its had to have a recon gearbox as it got stuck in 3rd. ooh nearly forgot a new injection pump too. At least it's all cheap.
I took it round the block today  great fun. an then the missus says "I like that landrover" that's not what she said before I bought the jeep. She said "I don't want one of those ugly things" what's a guy to do :?
