Sounds like the inner race of the inner bearing has siezed to the stub axle. Just keep slogging away, its the only way you will get it off. Be prepared to replace the bearings as well.

be prepered to buy alot more stuff than just a bearing

this happened to me, but i never knew that the bearing was on the way out, until my brakes went soft.... got it home jacked it up and there was about 2inch of play..... knew the wheel bearing had gone then#

tryed to take my hub off aswell but the car had ripped through the bearing and made all the rollers weld them selves together

ended up needing new bearing, hub, and stub axle.....

all for £22 worth of bearing

If the bearing is seized then the stub axles is b***ered too.  You need to pull like hell as you are trying to pull the bearing out through the oil seal.  Eventually it will give way and you land on your arse.

Split the old race with a chisel, or just bin the lot.

I found I had a perfectly good bearing that some t**t had fitted to a damaged stub axle, trouble is they never seat correctly then and don't last as long.
