Hi, have just fitted a new superwinch Ep9 to a standard winch bumper on the front of my 90. Manage to sheer one of the winch fixing bolt heads :( - are the bolts special high strength bolts or can i just buy a standard m10 high tensile bolt to replace.
Other thing is that when loading the winch line there is some flexing with the plate the winch is bolted to - rises up maybe 3-4mm. The bumper is 5mm steel bought at one of the LR shows fairly sturdy piece of kit. Is this ok just seems slightly worrying considering the loads involved when winching.
Any comments much appreciated.
Cheers, James

tighten the mounting bolts up as tight as you can get them, itll be the play in the guide tube in the chassis rail
as for the winch mount m10 high tensile  nothing else
and dont tighten them up 2 much as youll bust the casing
make sure you clean the winch out regualy as they need it rust me
need anyhelp on strpping it and clening pm me

yep will do is a tight fit - difficult enough to drop had to remove a bar and grill so hopeflly should keep the thiefin scumbags at bay.

pop a hole in bumper and when not in use pop a wire cable or chain through the link bars on the winch through the hole in bumper and aroung the front chassis crossmember
then no worries

tack a weld on the nut's to secure them. If it means cutting them off if you have to remove it it's cheaper to buy new bolts than it is to replace the winch !!
