Title: Intercooler cleaner??
Post by: Digsit on October 01, 2004, 20:42:06
I know this has been discussed before, but I cant find the old thread  :( .

Can anyone recommend a 'safe' product to flush my intercooler? Haynes says 'Genklene' or similar. Obviously, Genklene is no longer available. What would be a good alternative?

Cliff I used some of this stuff.

Parasene.

Bought from B&Q less than a fiver I think :?:

Made sure the intercooler was flushed afterwards again with the hosepipe then dried with a hairdryer.

HTH.

By the way, does can anyone recommend where to get replacement hoses. Need airbox to turbo mainly as its worn through to the braid where it rubs on the alternator :?

For standard :

http://www.mansfieldmotorsltd.co.uk/shop/en/browse/Discovery+I/2/0/6/110

Or you could bite the bullet and go for a nice silicon set from Allisport

Cheers for that Tim, but its the first hose in the system I am looking to replace. From the airbox to the turbo.

Turbo to intercooler and intercooler to manifold look ok for now.

Can anyone advise the part number for this one? :D
