Title: Rear X Member replacement
Post by: Kenny on October 29, 2006, 14:38:02
Afternoon guys and gals. Been a while and I think I am back in the land of the rover having spent summer repairing my dinghy. Bored with that now so back onto LR's.

OK job to do, replace rear x-Member. Got it already but I want to avoid having to remove the entire rear tub. Has anyone replaced the said piece by cutting a couple of holes on the floor and welding that way. If so would really appreciate some advice.

BTW it is a Tomb Raider 110 limited edition :) Not really its an old F reg 90.

Damian

Mate helped me do mine on my series 3.

A Highlift jack and some blocks of wood are usefull to jack the body up a bit.

just done mine   took 3 hours start to finish but cheated a bit by cutting rear loom ....extensions are important on your new x member though.

If you did it in 3 hours id hate to see the state of the job,ive never seen a neat job take less than 7 hours including cutting & joining the loom
