Title: RR SPORT SUPERCHARGED
Post by: LOFTY on November 04, 2006, 14:15:28
Down at Mr Gordon Finleys on friday, "gas conversion, main man", and on the ramp was a RR Sport V8 with supercharger, having a gas conversion.
Gordon asked me if i had any idea about the huge cast iron weights hanging of the rear of the chassis, basically about 15 kg of iron piviting on the chassis, one both sides right at the rear by the exhaust outlets.
I can only assume they are for vibration control?, as there a no sensors to them.
So anybody know the real reason, its dragging arount 30 Kg of swinging iron??????

cos just like the LR3 someone botched up the design ... they are "harmonic" dampers......note the proper RR was designed properly and doesn't have 'em <grin>

Maybe it's for extra traction.

Maybe it's just a bit of extra ballast to increase the fuel consumption to p1ss the anti's off even more !
