I hate b****y gritters, not only do you get a free shot blast when they go buy but your pride and joy rots with the salt!
In Czech they use coal dust, it dosn't melt the snow causing ice, but bonds with the snow and ice to create a rough grippy surface. Plus when it melts it stays grippy.
You just have to get use to driving on a layer of snow... Ok thinking of what usually happens when the white stuff comes that would freak most of the uk population... except us 4x4 owners who usually grab our boots to take to the road for some fun.

Quattro was made for snow, love it! :)
On anther note. north america they only put down salt for so long, as there comes a point about -15 where it makes things worse. They thy just put grit down. most people there know how to drive on snow and ice though.

Gritters? Does this mean we might be getting a slightly mild frost, or is to cope with the fall of autumn leaves?
