I think from memory he was the first stig, but theres 2 of them now, one is a lady. Perry Macarthy has not done it for at least 2 years.

I think Perry McCarthy is the one that drowned (though he does look remarkably healthy for a corpse!).

as a wild guess,  Could it be that german? lady who a demon round the neuremburg ring (spell it how it sounds :lol: )  guess we cant answer that question, (yet :-k )

I reckon she does do the odd run . If you look closely there are different stigs throughout the series.

thats a shame, if they are different people, cos it means the cars the stig drives dont get a fair comparison.

I heard the current Stig is Julian Bailey, former touring and sports car driver.

Perry was indeed the original Stig (black overalls)
He was killed off when his identity became public knowledge
The current Stig is many people, Men and women.
Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert, Anthony Davidson to name a few.
All the drivers come from racing back grounds.
Inc F1, Touring cars, Le Mans and various testing rolls withing motorsport
The term "Stig" is known as a generic racing driver i.e fast and without brains  :wink:
It does'nt matter who it is, they just know how to drive the cars to the limit
