What route did you use? and where exactly did you go? Whenever I used to travel from Brighton to London (suburbs) it took less than an hour and a half to cover the same distance.
-
up to euston station just a lot of traffic via the a23
normaly it take us 2 hrs max
so the congestion charge dont make any differance just make money for the friends of KEN

just drive like a london caby and everything is fine
or leave your brain on the M25!
i HATE the place - silly people who dont speak english driving LHD foreign registered BMW's arguing with 18 tones of Scania - then moaning when you DARE to not let them in a gap!!!
and all those buses in London have a common fault -NO INDICATORS
(mind you Bristols as bad)

A couple of years back SWMBO was on a course and got taken ill, very ill (like hospikal and that) so I had to rush down and pick her up. The doctor rang me at home and told me to come fetch her "you do know I'm in Sheffield don't you?" blizzard outside, the works.
Hmm, take the Micra 'cos it's cheap to run or take Blue?
No brainer, 2 hours later I'm doing battle with the black cabs in Euston trying to get to the Hotel near the station when it slowly dawns on me, my car is very likely to win an arguament with a black cab/white van/courier etc.
Took me just over 2 hours from here to the hotel, I 'forgot' the congestion charge, expecting the bill would be in the post. I guess they must have decide to refund it as it took me over an hour to get out of the place.
I though lundon was a toilet when I lived there in the early 90s but for heaven's sake what's happened to the place?
Anyway, couldn't fault the RR, kicked it's a**e all the way there and back (Julie ended up in hospital again that night) and the snow was coming down sideways, well it can't do much else when you're driving at warp 2
