depends where you're going.

You need UK road tax whilst in the EU but outside that, send your disc back and sorn the car.  Buy local insurance at the border for which ever country you're going to, they'll probably make you pay tax too.

We sent our tax disc back from Hungary I think, had no problems.

Hi Chris
Would you visulise any problems in Botswana,Namibia and South Africa??

I don't fancy paying twelve months road tax for the vehicle to be in the UK for four months at the most.

Buy a car from Czech,  not MOT, No road tax and cheap insurance!

Why not, it has to be registared in Czech, you only have to take it back once a year or so to make it legal.

Move to the Isle of Man, like CLarkson. If the car is there one day a year you're ok.  No road tax, cheap insurance etc etc.

You just need to be a racing driver to buy a house there  life's not fair is it?

that's not correct as road tax is based on engine size and is more expensive than what people in the uk are required to pay............insurance is reduced as there is very little car crime in fact any sort of crime on the isle of man.
but we have stealth tax in the shape of the ferry or the plane every time the need to go off island arises.
