..one end of it is connected to the cylinder block just behind the rearmost exhaust manifold bolt on the passenger side, the other end is dangling in the wind. Where should it bolt on to? It's a 1989 3.5 Efi by the way.

startermotor?
-
starter motor's working ok. I would imagine the bolt has come completely out of somewhere for this to become detached as it is fitted with a lug with a bolt hole through it.
-
Funny one this, I think it's for the bonnet.
-
Bulkhead somewhere as I recall. Held on by a captive not again as I recall.
I remember worrying about it when I replaced my V8. It obviously isn't all that important is it?

Mine is connected to the bonnet hinge.

So I think concensus is that it needs to earth to teh bulkhead!

  being as the bonnet is leaning against the garage wall.....
in my defence, the bonnet has been off the vehicle for the last five months!
Thanks guys.

I think bulkhead or bonnet hinge, one came off on mine caused it to cut out after starting. (There are two on the engine I think)

Oops I think I double posted sorry!

it goes through a hole in the bulk head near the bonnet hinge then onto the hinge bolt if it is the flat one with a plastic cover got no idea why tho
