Hi folks
Having a problem with the c/locking on my 300TDi. Once you drop the locks there is a slight pause then they pop back up again. This is a right PITA as it doesn't always happen unless you are in a hurry or parking where you really need it locked. If you drop the locks with the fob then when they pop back up it sets of the alarm - I guess it thinks its being broken into.
Any ideas? I assume the c/locking unit either thinks the locks arn't down or is getting someother false info from a sensor?

Yeap, mine's doing it too. One of your locks isn't going down properly so the whole system re-opens the locks. I'm failry sure it'l be one of the front ones. Liberlay caot with WD40 and work it in to the mechanism manually.
I find in desparation that if I pump the ofending lock, in the carpark scenario, that it behaves. Just to be doubly sure I put the key into the passenger side (the offending lock) and make sure it's fully locked, sometimes as the mechanism wears it may look locked but a thief can force it open.
On RRR some little toewrag tried to force the handle anyway, and bust it for me

Just a thought could it be the under bonnet switch?

Jees! these modern cars are crazy. I wish I could stick to my Series IIa.
Is there any particular way these fail?

probabily as said ...wd40 the parts and check the sol is working.
another very common fault on the disco lock is the retaining spring has a tendancy to die.
to check it out if you disconnect each locks solenoid then try locking your wagon, if the sols stay in you know its the lock itself. reconnect each one in turn and hopefully you'll tell witch lock it is.you may have to buy a complete lock from landy etc but e-blag you can get the spring on its own for a fiver

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, take the door card off, youll see the actuator, pull back the rubber cover, insert wd40 tube into it via the groove on top, spray liberally, re assemble door.

Yep. Its the drivers lock.
Tip if your reading this and have the same problem.
Close all the doors and open the O/S passenger door.
Push down the drivers door lock - it will jump back up.
Imediately pop it down again - this time the drivers door only locks
Shut the door.
Set the alarm as normal.
Hope this helps anyone stuck.
Felix
Now to get mine fixed.

glad you found the fault and hopefully not expensive
