Title: l/100 km to mpg
Post by: v8kenny on November 17, 2006, 22:50:37
Just finished a 250 odd mile trip to pick up my new toy - it's a jap import 4.6 HSE P38
Although the speedo reads MPH, the odometer (and trip computer) read in KPH - anyone know a formula to convert my average fuel consumption from litres per 100 km yo good old MPG ? - or maybe I am better off not knowing
Managed to average a respectable 93 kph considering it was peeing down most of the time

Not worked out the ratio but this is easier -
http://www.eforecourt.com/l_100km_mpg_convert.htm

If it's more than 10l/100km DON'T DO IT!

Thanks for that link Chris  - it will come in handy
Well according to that website 14.5 l/100km equates to..............................................................................................................wait for it...............................................................................................................are you ready...........................................................................................................19.48 mpg ! - Hey, I can live with that - most of that was a thrash up the M6 / M74 to be honest it is slightly better than I expected

Nice one- i've got a jap import 4.6 hse as well. Took its time to get here but its the best money i've ever spent. Couldnt believe the condition- looked like it had just rolled off the factory floor (underneath was stick clean matt black!) and had 0000's worth of nakamichi stereo i didnt know about

I was going to change the dials to mph but i learnt the conversions to get me by for a while & just got used to them so im not going to bother

Good luck with it

p.s mine only seems to average 17.5 l/100km!

Gave it an oil and filter change yesterday cos the service history is in japanese    - better safe than sorry
Had a good poke round and just can't find any faults/rust - oops I tell a lie, one of the five bulbs in the high level brake light was blown !
I will try and get my fuel consumption down to your level - can't have you using more petrol than me
