Well was just reading this, and if you read the comments at the bottom there is a couple of people saying about 4x4's are at fault as well!!!

I have posted a reply basically saying that tis not just 4x4's, but i doubt it will get shown.

I just hope some dogooder has a go at me for having a blue badge in the car, I can take great pleasure in watching them wince as I ram Clare's wheelchair up their assumption...

As one who has worked with people with diabilities and who has friends with disabilities, some years ago I made up a business card with a wheelchair logo and the following:
Quote
You have parked in a disabled parking bay without displaying the appropriate badge.

Is this the only time you put yourself in their place?

I'v also worked with my local supermarket who made a minimal statement if a customer complained. They now read an extensive announcement as follows:

"At (the chain name) we endevour to provide customers with servicesthey need, one of which is disabled parking... would the owners of the following vehicles please remove them as they are taking up valuable disabled parking spaces"

Whenever I spot a non badge holder in disabled bay I ask politely if they have one and if not ask them to move (usually ending up in them giving me verbal... like I give a sh*t). I have some success with these approaches and wish more people would join in. The only way we'll change this selfish minority is when the silent majority get vocal.

I like the sign I saw in the states...

"if you can't understand why disabled people need these spaces, we suggest you go and break your ******* spine!"
