Title: Power steering pump help
Post by: winchman on November 23, 2006, 16:42:20
1994 399TDi Disco
Power steering pump is leaking badly
As far as I can see its comming from the low pressure inlet (one with Jubilee clip on) where it mounts with two bolts to the pump, or from the join in the two halfs of the pump
I dont thing its the shaft seal, but its difficult to see.
Can you repair these your self?
Can you get the bits?
Its Christmas soon and I am skint so any ideas?
Where can I get one cheap?
I need it for work aswell
When I unscrewed the hose the valve thing and spring fell out as well which way dose it go back in?
Help.

I think they are cartridge style ie not serviceable.  Try My mate on E-Blag, V8-3500, he does a PAS stop leak that does work, I've seen it in action.

Fixed it with a new one.
Stripped the old one and it was only the gasket, but didnt have the time to overhaul it and it not work when I refitted it( fitted it by torch light )
Found a place in Liverpool called Overlanders its in a row of terraced shops in the middle of a housing estate just sells Land Rover bits
Brand new pump 12 month warrenty £82
I thought that was cheap?
