Just received a fake email claiming to be from eBay.
Because of the way it was sent it would seem that details were gleaned from this site - the only place that I have mentioned selling on eBay
(I refer to a post I made recently from which details not listed in the data on this site were used - not a breach of this site's security I hasten to add)
Please check your eBay emails with extra care

I get them once a month at least, just remember to log in via Ebay not from you e-mail. there is a lot of scammers out there who can pick up your e-mail address very easily. I have a totally separate e-mail for ebay only.
-
i get some corkers and the nigerian scammers
-
i use many email addresses but only one i use for ebay
i normally receive fake ones to my hotmail one but on the odd occasion i do receive one from ebay its almost certainly a fake one mainly cos ebay dont email you unless you are
a) bidding (winning/losing/lost)
b) need to pay for something
c) sold something
otherwise its cr@p and should be ignored
even if a) - c) looks like its covered in the email, scan the email quickly and you can normally work out if its genuine or not.
-
i get them every week, always check your ebay messages in ebay first as a genuine message will be in there.
they make bloody good spoof pages dont they!

Try 3 a day!
I've even stopped sending them to Spoof@...... too many!

I'm getting loads since Julie put her CV on Monster, apparently my Halifax, Natwest, Bankd of Scotland, Barclaycard accounts have all been frozen now. Funny as I'm with someone else.

So have mine. :D
