Title: Me's a happy badger :D
Post by: Yoshi on November 29, 2006, 12:14:37
Just went out and bought a slightly more economical run around for £99 with a years tax and tested until feb 07.

Tis a 1987 E reg Volswagen Passet 1.8GL, very very very very solid, little bits of rust but immaculate where it counts :D

Am enjoying this :D

I know, and its in good nick as well, its got some rust around the windows, so will drive it til it dies, if it doesnt make it through the mot without minor work needed then it will get binned and the tax sent back thus creating a profit :D lol

That engine will never die :)

when the car falls to bits, drop it in a zook and it'll still outlive the car :)

But the car is still solid as hell, looking in the boot under the carpet and there was no holes or owt apart from where they should be, the springs and arches are all rust free so think its possibly been looked after :D

I'm having a good day too.  Not only did I finally get to drive my new toy but it's the first chance I've had to lift the bonnet on the LSE I bought for spares.

Now I know it had a new engine (not recon, the seller was sure about that) but I also knew you couldn't get 4.2s anymore, not for about 8 years IIRC.  Well the engine number begins 46......... :)

Now if I can sell my MkI Capri tonight that'll be a hatrick.
