Title: Can anyone help identify these wheel? PLEASE!!!!
Post by: bonio73 on November 30, 2006, 16:18:24
Help!  These wheels are currently on my recently acquired 110.  There is one nut missing per wheel where the previous owner bought some locking wheel nuts, but there isn't enough space between the stud and the wheel for them to fit.  My local LR specialist says that if I(we!) can identify them then he can get me some nuts that will fit.  Over to you!

I would guess that they came from Performance Industries, I am not sure that they still exist.

It looks to me like the studs are too short rather than the nuts being at fault.

Yes, I would be extremely concerned about only having that amount of thread engagement.

Well I thought the same (as did the mechanic)until I removed one of the existing nuts.  The have a long sleeve that screws down inside the wheels and uses all of the thread on the stud.

Ah! That would be fine. Couldn't make of that there was enough clearance to the stud for sleeve bolts.

Nice looking wheels BTW.

Yes they do look good.

I think that they might be these guys, I'm sure there used to be a UK importer.

Have just sent an e-mail to Performance (Australia) asking if they are their wheels.  Will let you know on the response.  Nothing on their website looks the same, although several types do look similar.
Yes, had several remarks on how they look - coupled with the BFG MT's they're pretty nice!! :)
Still, the MOT runs out on 11/12/06 and I need to get the wheel nuts by then, and then there's the service!?  :?

I had a set too.
They are wolfrace multi slots or "snatch" wheels.
(the range rover in the guy ritchie film "snatch" had them on).
I swapped mine as the nuts were a pain.

Had the following from Performance Industries-

"Thanks for your email David.

The wheel is called Hurricane. This is no longer made but the nuts would be a 16mm x 1.5 mag nut & washer.

Regards,

Tracey

Performance Alloy Wheels"

Hopefully things should be OK now!
