Title: Lifted discovery, clearance problem.
Post by: cotefarmboy on November 30, 2006, 17:57:53: Now this is really odd, after fitting a 2" lift kit and some 235/85/16 MT's The drivers side front has plenty of clearance on lock but the passenger side fouls the plastic sill trim??? The car also pulls to the left a bit, seems as though something is really out of alignment, any ideas what it could be?

Connecting the axle to the chassis are 2 large cast arms, each have 2 bushes in the front (where they bolt to axle) and a set of bushes in the rear where they connect to the chassis out riggers.

Check with a big lever for movement. there should be almost none.

Mick..... you should check yours too :wink: West mids maint. day?? Some knowledge there.... :wink:

Yep, Colway MT remoulds, wonder if they are slightly different sizes or it could be just that the tolerances were not that great when the car was built :roll:

In the meantime I have trimmed the plastic sill finisher by 1cm and it clears fine.

I'll second that! - no two are ever the same, it's that "hand built" appeal that Landies have :roll: :wink: Just fitted 265/75x16's on mine - again lifted by +2" and the arches only just require trimming.

If bushes / arms are OK, it may just be Landy manufacturing tolerances, the stiffness of the springs may affect it and given the tyres are remoulds, they may well come up a little bit bigger than the marked size would suggest.
