Anyone got any ideas what tyres are best on the humus type soil/mud that you get under trees
Also an idea of a decent tyre pressure might help as well
I'm using colway MT on a 31 10.50 @ 25psi at the moment which seems a bit hopeless in the situation I mention above

I'd say stay with same tread or slightly more aggressive but go wide as possible and as low a pressure as possible - bead locks and down to 10ish psi.
but someone i'll be along shortly to say something completly different

try getting a land rover, get further then with your tyres
on a seroius note,
take the pressure down to 18psi
u wont nock them off rims i ran 31 inch grizzlys at 16psi at comps without them coming off
maybe i was lucky tho
anyhows air them down, but get a decent guage, have a look on devon4x4's website for the nice new arb one that come out, mines on order yyyay
even my simex stuggle and dig down some times just depends what its like on the day
but id suggest a thin tyre to dig down to firmer ground underneath not a wide tire that is going to float and not provide much traction,
IMO, for your use greenlanes ect id say save up abit and get some bfg muds
ino its the same patter, but they are way way better also they got some nice lugs on the side, so if you air them down you got abit of extra tread then
but hey thats my opinion, do what the hell u like
255/85/16s are a damn good size
but they are virtualy 33 inch so i doubt youll be able to fit them under the arches :?
so otherwise same size as you got now or 235/85/16's

Not worried about the green laning the colways are ok there; they are ok under trees - in woods, as in trialing - when it's dry, but once the soil gets damp it just seems to fill up the tread giving me an effectual bald tyre :(
Oh yeah 33 should be no problem under my arches as it's not a land-rover  The 31s look a bit lost in there

wel if they are only going to be used in woods ect then i recomend the insa turbos special track ( simex copys) 265/75 r16 they will do the job just fine, but run them at 18 psi
but 1st just experiment with pressures in your tyres
get a good tyre pump and a accurate guage and play around
i found that my grizzlys were best at about 16 psi
i bet yours will be best at about 18
but just play however dont go below 15 what ever you do
