Whilst replying to a post eleswhere, I found this wonderful little self-depracting take (http://www.vidlit.com/bryson/) on his auto-biography
It's a good book & a real take on growing up in 1950's America
Well worth reading..................... as is 'A Short History Of Nearly Everything' (http://www.randomhouse.com/features/billbryson/bb_title/display.pperl?isbn=9780767908184)
(but the funniest book must be 'Notes From A Small Island', all about our eccentricities)
official web-site (http://www.randomhouse.com/features/billbryson/flat/home.php)
There, that's BTMs recommendation of the week

Bill Bryson provides a great read, notes from a small Island was brilliant.

And the bit on US statistics, apparently I am twice as likely to be killed by my bedding in new England than shot.
Made me wanto go there.
If you shoot a burglarisator in Texas, the states PAYS you
