Right, need to prime the fuel system and read the haynes book but its rather dark and rainy out. Can't for the life of me figure out where the priming lever is. If someone could take a photo and draw on a big arrow pointing in the general direction I'd be really grateful. :)

right, look to the left of the fuel pump and youl see a canister type thing at the side of the break vacume pump
on the side of this canister or underneath in some cases theres a little arm pump this up and down to prime up the fuel system, dont forget to undo the bleed nipple on top of the fuel filter housing

Thanks for the input guys.
Just changed the head gasket so had all the fuel hoses off and nothing's getting through to the injectors yet.
End up learning which bits are which as I go -not so familiar with the engine bay yet.. well, considerably more familiar with it now haha! :)

The 200Tdi has a self purge fuel system. You shouldn't need to prime it.

u can pump all you want but u wont get fuel up to the injectors, refit the stop solenoid & spin it over,u might need to open 1 0r 2 injectors to bleed them up
