Ouch, having worked on these before I know it wasn't an English one, but nothing beats a failed tail rotor on landing

Did you see that poor sod fall out, then have the chopper land on his head?

Nothing to worry about Dude.  You're far more likely to die in a car crash than be involved with an aircraft accident.

Blimey, that must have been fairly unpleasant for the occupants.  At least they were fairly near the ground.

When I first saw this thread I thought you meant a Ford Puma...

So did I.

The one and only time I've been in an aircraft, it was a Cessna (I think) - a Bedford Rascal with wings and no back door.  The pilot had the one and only seat.  At 2,000 feet, the rest of us jumped out (we did have parachutes) - solo jump, none of this poofy tandem stuff that they seem to do now.  It was brilliant, we had two days intensive training on normal landing procedures, emergency landing procedures and practising landings, my friend landed face first in a ploughed field but the rest of us landed the right way up, and we all walked away from it.  Someone had suggested it in the pub at Christmas and it sounded like a good idea at the time ... and still sounded like a good idea when we had sobered up.

Back to RRB's clip.  That looked nasty, and very scary.  I dread to think what that guy's headache was like - I hope he wasn't too badly hurt.
