Title: Roof racks , Bolt or Clamp?
Post by: Lee_D on December 09, 2006, 19:47:29
Been researching whats available, there seem to be some that clam and others that bolt on to the gutter  :shock:

Which are best... I can't think of any advantages of bolting it to the gutter myself... especially when it come to be time to remove it.

I think you just answered your own question there !   :lol:

Only reason I can think of for fitting a bolt on one is that they are maybe a wee bit harder to pinch ?

MY first rack was bolted. Fine till the beast rolled. When the damaged rack was removed a new clamp brownchurch was fitted. The left over holes let the rain come through in unusual places on the exterior which is of mild anoyance.

Conclusion = Clamps
