Challenge them, mention cooling off period and insurance ombudsman and they may react differently.

You should have been prepared to provide all this stuff anyway as most insurers want proof at the beginning. Also you dont have the right to cancel and insurance policy, if they do choose to cancel it they are entitled to charge a penalty for this as the insurance is a contract and unless they state a cooling off period then there isnt one, as per any contract.

The law changed recently. There IS a cooling off period. But its short, about 7 days iirc.
But as stated you should have been ready to pony up at least proof of NCD, thats fairly normal.

Agree with the above, if you`ve nowt to hide, i really dont see how it would take more than either a letter and a phonecall or even just a letter to save you the £130!
wont chassis numbers should be on V5 logbook/on chasis
old no claims forms a policy ref and a phonecall is usually enough, although i have sent the renewal form in before
proof of alarm and immboliser difficult if fitted by previous keeper.. would mean talking to them on the phone if you didnt have a reciept etc. most alarm fitters will inspect and give you a letter to confirm the make and model of alarm fitted (although they might charge a small fee)
they milage but i dont hav time to do all this thats the long number in the middle of your speedo
Good luck :D
