Right its definate, if i can get a good engine then its tdi power for the 90.
But i'd like to put an auto box in her, What is everyones thoughts on this?
The plan is to eventually use the 90 as a trials/challenge vehicle, which would be better auto or manual? or is it driver preferance?

nooooo way! manual deffo.

Why do yo say that?

i feel i am so much more in control... i can change down, engine brake when i want etc etc... just prefer it! guess everyone has their own opinions on this issue though...

Engine brakeing is almost as good in my 110 auto as a manual. An auto will not lose drive as it changes up on a long up hill. Also its easer to use left foot brakeing in an auto :D

I've driven an auto 300tdi Disco, and I felt the 'box let the engine rev too highly, and there was a major flat spot as well. Not sure I'd go for an auto with this engine, although I'm generally a fan of them. Maybe if you set it up properly you could improve on this.

300 tdi auto in the 90,chip it,tune it job done
Does sound good, just struggling to get a good engine.
Was toying with the uprated 2.8 tdi but that means saving alot of money and waiting a fair time, idealy i'd have it done by march.

buy a complete 300 tdi auto disco
you get 24 spline diffs & shafts, all the bits u need to fit the engine & box, everything basically & if u sell on whats left/no required it can pay for itself
