Title: Help with heavy Clutch

Hi all

Ive recently bought a 110 with a 300tdi fitted, not sure what master cylinder it has.

The clutch pedal although smooth is very heavy, i do get used to it but its very bad in traffic.
My mom needs to use the landy when im at work as she did with a 200tdi disco i had but the clutch in this 110 is way to hard for her to even move let alone drive.

Is there anything to look for to make it softer?
Could it have the wrong master cylinder in it that does not suit the clutch?

Any help would be great as she is having to walk to work at the moment and im getting the guilty treatment. lol

Dunno the actual answrer but my recent 110 had a gearbox failure and the clutch was like yours... needed to be a well trainned and disciplined SAS hard nut to keep it in.

Had the gearbox fixed , new clutch, new clutch kit and since then it's much much better... now just a regular workout at the Gym seems to see it ok.. Mrs D drove it yesterday for the first time...she's driven RRC's in the past but this was a culture shock after driving the Disco Auto for the last couple of years even though it's now much lighter.... to be fair once she had changed gear a couple of times she was fine.

You could get hold of the proper 300tdi onwards pedal set-up - works slightly different to pre 300Tdi types and is spring assisted.  The master cylinder is same regardless.

The clutch on my 90 is very light...

My clutch peddle is heavy, and swmbo dont like it (she drives it every day, when its working, and her previous car was a mazda mx5, AUTO!).

I have bought a clutch peddle from a 300tdi to fit as like porny says they are supposed to be lighter. just need to fit it now.

cost me about 30 od Pounds from a & B landys on ebay. took a while as they dont use paypal and needed to send a cheque. but was as described. included the master cylinder, springs pedle and box.

what do i need to look for to see if i dont have it fitted?

And what do i need to fit / change if it has'nt.

Never knew you could do this, as i said the clutch works fine and is smooth only the spring-e-ness of it could put your knee through the roof.
