Post by: smo on December 18, 2006, 22:21:21
I'm after some new overalls as mine are ripped and rather tatty!

Wheres the best place to get some, i have poppers on my current ones but they havnt worked for years!

Has anyone got the quilted/thermal overalls (like the ones in machine mart) - are they any good?

I think my local tractor dealer is about 50 miles away which would mean spending as much on petrol to get there as on the overalls themselves!  :P

sleeplessparadise - those dickies ones are the ones i was thinking of

We have the padded overalls from machine mart cant fault them. They keep us very warm when off roading in the winter, as for working in garage we have a little stove that gets rid of used engine oil.

pop up to any army surplus and get a set of chinese fighting suit fully quitted tank overalls plue the arms and legs all zip together to make a sleeping bag. had a set when on exersice with the army and they were so comfy it was unreal. just like working on you car while you were still in bed

I've got the quilted ones, there great if like me you have to work outside - I would definitely recommend them.

Only problem is because they're so warm, you need a normal pair for summer  8)

The NF show isnt for a while tho is it TD90?

I think i'll just add them to the other £500+ worth of stuff i will get from machine mart soon, get the quilted ones for now and reaccess in the summer with something lighter altho i hope to have finished the build by then, that is if i ever get the chance to start it!

Johnty wears his down at his unit. Trouble is he gets too warm with the heater on then he turns the heater off and is still too warm so has to take the overalls down to his waist then he gets too cool  Vicious circle, but he cant complain about being cold when he has them on

I went year before last with my ex and her kids, my mum and sisters (and their families) usually go but being a singleton again i'm not in a hurry to do big "family" things!!

July is a bit late, kinda need them now, tis chilly in the garage.

I have some nice red ones that I used to use on Public Order Training, when I was in charge of the, how can I put this?.........., pyrotechnical bit of the exercise.
They are fully fireproof, but tend to smell like wee when they get wet, due to the chemicals in them.

Well, thats my excuse, and I'm sticking to it, so there!
