Dilemma:
Heart says 300 TDI manual 3 door.....but EARS say V8
but I have just been offered (for money!) an abolutely solid 95 V8 3dr Auto - v nicely kept for £2.2k add £700 for LPG tanks in boot
Will be used for local short runs - will lift etc do arches - greenlane - play & break days
Views? :?
V8 v 300tdi
Manual v Auto

Aren't Diesels supposed to be better for wading, due to V8's electrics not liking water?
probably worth considering if that's something you plan on doing.

I think that wading (except where absolutely necessary!) is now off my list of things to do in a Disco after loosing my last one to a "puddle" at Cowm!
-
if you don't wanna play in water then the v8 would be my way to go,gearbox wise autos are real nice to drive on and off road .it's catch 22 cos ya got bored of just hills and want to splash too, then ya bored of sluggish power then want a v8..hills and water a diesel will do both

Buy a TDI, its gods own engine.

personally a manual diesel...
but if a you want a v8, get a manual!
-
Buy a diesel you can make it run under water with a length of drain pipe, loads of grunt and reasonable economy

Buy a V8 and gas it. Go Auto, I myself am being drawn to the dark side
