Right my coil has died again, i think because its mounted on the rocker cover and therfore gets too hot and shacken up,,,
So im moving the new coil into the cab (also looks well tough being in cab!!!!)
So negative and positive feeds are easy enough, but how do i extend the HT lead? and wont this lose valuable power?

I have my coil inside, on the dash shelf. I just made up a longer ht lead to the distributor, about 4' long I guess. Haven't had any problems. I use Lumenition ignition with a Lumenition coil.

I'd be tempted not to, keep the lead as short as possible but put it somewhere cooler with less vibration. Not manay manufacturers fit the coil to the engine and those that did seem to move it pronto.

You should be able to get a longer HT lead from Halfords or the like, check the length and make sure you get the correct ends on the new one.
Moving the coil inside wont stop damp issues as the distributor tends to be the worst problem.
I would suggest fixing it high up on the outside of the bulk head. Inside would consern me that someone might grab the HT lead as you drive

the hand throttle is more of a favourite for passengers to grab! iv never had distributor damp issues, mine seems to be a perfect seal! will have a look next time in halfords!
